-Dorothy From US-CA-Albany: Sewing Machine Singer 338 2010 or earlier I think it needs its timing adjusted; The thread from the needle and the thread from the bobbin don't hook up, so sewing doesn't happen. I've looked at various youtubes showing how some people fix the timing on various machines, but nothing is close enough to what my machine looks like, so I haven't tried anything. I'll look at the service manual and wait until the clinic.

-Ishwari From US-NM-Santa Fe: steam iron Bernette 312104 or LR N 700688 ProGlidePlus 2016 It leaks liquidy white/grey mineral stuff when I iron. I cleaned it with vinegar but it still leaks this stuff. Cleaned it with a solution of vinegar and water - twice - per online general instructions for cleaning steam irons.

-Dorothea From US-CA-Napa: Kitchen faucet 2010 or earlier When I turn on the water there is a scream from the faucet that disappears when I use the sprayer (divert the water flow from the faucet) Took the screen at the point where the water flows out apart to clean thinking there was back pressure from that causing the sound.

-Kirstin From US-CA-San Leandro: Schlage door handle came off! I'd like to be able to repair it. Schlage. Already reached out to them but they did not have any suggestions or help. it's a vintage door handle. 2010 or earlier Door handle was rough to turn for a long while, then finally it popped off. I put it back in, it worked but would pop off. I accidentally shut the door fully, and now even though I can put it back in, it won't turn the latch. I've tried screwdrivers and all sorts of things to move the mechanism inside but the latch won't move. I did a ton of research on vintage knobs, and haven't found anything that actually looks like my knob. Nothing about how to fix it was found. I did try to take it apart when I could open the door, but didn't figure anything out. I also tried taking the door off it's hinges but wasn't sure how to get the door out once I pulled the pins off. I have photos to show you what I'm dealing with. It's a closet door knob so the inside is not a knob, just a safety turning mechanism (it's super cute). I took apart a different closet door knob and took photos while I tried to troubleshoot the problem, but now have the same latch not moving when I turn the handle problem. I think there's just a connection problem in the knob works, but I haven't figured out what is not corrected right. Nothing appears to be broken, it's likely the mechanics of the 1930's or so knob (house is 1923, I found similar Schlage door knobs from the 1930s).
