Dear colleagues and friends,
We’re excited to announce that the second continental report in the #BorntoLearn Spotlight Series, Learning Counts, and a new Zambia Spotlight Report and video on Zambia will be launched today in Lusaka at the 11th Conference of Africa Federation of Teaching Regulatory Authorities (AFTRA), at an event hosted by H.E. Douglas Munsaka Syakalima, Minister of Education, Zambia.
Produced in partnership with the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA), the 2024 Spotlight report responds to the African Unions’ priority on effective strategies for foundational numeracy skills and examines how countries align their national vision with curriculum development, textbook provision, teacher support, and assessment practices to advance foundational numeracy. The five 2024 focus countries are Niger, Mauritania, South Africa, Uganda and Zambia.
We have prepared a social media pack you can draw from building on the #BorntoLearn campaign: https://trello.com/b/1CYw5ork/spotlight and invite you to watch the event live on the GEM Report’s Facebook page from 3:30 PM EAT.
Thanks,
Kate
