Dear valued partners,
As we head into 3 years of the unacceptable ban on secondary school girls’ education in Afghanistan, we at Education Cannot Wait (ECW) - the global fund for education in emergencies and protracted crises within the UN - hope you can help post, promote and amplify our completely updated global #AfghanGirlsVoices advocacy campaign across your social media channels and websites - anytime from now.
#AfghanGirlsVoices features all-new social media content including new compelling Afghan girls’ testimonies and art work; relevant editorial cartoons; and, high-level advocate quotes. The campaign was launched by UN Special Envoy for Global Education Gordon Brown and developed by ECW in close collaboration with our Global Champion Somaya Faruqi, former Captain of the Afghan Girls’ Robotics Team. The inspiring, resilient and heartbreaking testimonies in the #AfghanGirlsVoices campaign are conveyed through moving art work by an anonymous young Afghan female artist. ECW has been supporting non-formal, community-based education across Afghanistan since 2017. Working with partners, ECW supports 250,000 children and adolescents across some of the most remote and underserved areas of the country, half of whom are girls.
Also, today, 17 Sept, ECW launches our latest Annual Results Report: Results Against All Odds at the UNHQ press briefing at 12:00 PM ET. This new #ECWResults report highlights our progress delivering quality education to crisis-affected children in the face of escalating conflicts, climate-related disasters, record-high forced displacement, and other crises.
Many thanks for your continued impactful education support with ECW for crisis-affected girls and boys - and for supporting Afghan girls!

Warm wishes,
Anouk
