We’re celebrating World Teachers’ Day on 5 October under the theme: "The teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage".

New UNESCO data has revealed the concerning global shortage of teachers, as well as the alarming trend of the profession’s ‘unattractiveness’.

A global event will take place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 5 and 6 October. A photo exhibition celebrating teachers from around the world will also be unveiled at UNESCO.
