The International Day of Education will be celebrated on 24 January under the theme “learning for lasting peace”. UNESCO is dedicating this year’s edition to the crucial role education and teachers play in countering hate speech.

 

UNESCO and the’ Group of Friends for Education and Lifelong Learning’ are organizing a high level panel and dialogue centered on this year’s theme at the UNHQ in New York. UNESCO will also organize a one-day online training for several thousand teachers from around the world on the deconstruction of hate speech.
