Dear GDJC Community,
We wish you all well. We are delighted to welcome Lauren Wedekind to give our June GDJC Talk.
Lauren
is completing her PhD between the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the University
of Oxford. She will present her research on genetic
and non-genetic influences on birth weight and diabetes in diverse populations.
GDJC Talks themselves are 30-45 min long, followed by 15-30 min of discussion with the speaker, moderated by our co-organizers. If time permits before the end of the hour, we can share resources and events of interest
in diabetes epidemiology.
Please
share this announcement with anyone you think would be interested in joining -- all are welcome to attend. We will record this session and post it, with captions, to our
GDJC
website and
YouTube channel,
where
you can also check out our first jointly delivered session by
Cassie Mitchell and Emma Stinson from NIH/NIDDK Phoenix Epidemiology and Clinical Research Branch on metabolic responses to a mixed meal
tolerance test in individuals at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Best wishes,
