Hi,

I'm trying glista on my Ubuntu 8.04 system.

I managed to buid it build it but I got this error:

$ glista
Error loading config file: [4] No such file or directory
Using default configuration.

(glista:16349): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_buildable_custom_tag_start:
assertion `GTK_IS_BUILDABLE (buildable)' failed
Unable to read icon data file: /usr/local/share/glista/glista-
icons.xml
Unable to initialize UI.

Do you know what should I do to fix it :)

Many thanks!
Adi

Hi,

What version of Glista are you testing? Is it from a release tarball
(and what version) or from SVN?

Also, does the file /usr/local/share/glista/glista-icons.xml actually
exist?

Shahar.

Sorry. I forgot to say that.
I'm using the SVN. rev 139

I also tried the 0.4 and I got
GThread-ERROR **: GThread system may only be initialized once.
aborting...

I have installed both libnotify and libunique

Yes. The file is there. Also the png file are there

This is a known bug in 0.4 that was fixed in SVN.

This is very odd. I suggest you open a bug
(http://code.google.com/p/glista/issues/list ) and do the following:
- svn update to the latest revsion and try again, and paste the output
in the bug (I added an additional assertion so it might give more
info)
- Attach the XML file itself to the bug report.

Thanks,

Shahar.

I have done the svn update and now I can no longer compile the code

glista-ui.c:1175:1: eroare: unterminated argument list invoking macro "g_assert"
glista-ui.c: In function 'glista_ui_init':
glista-ui.c:394: error: 'g_assert' undeclared (first use in this function)
glista-ui.c:394: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
glista-ui.c:394: error: for each function it appears in.)
glista-ui.c:394: error: expected ';' at end of input
glista-ui.c:394: error: expected declaration or statement at end of input
make[3]: *** [glista-ui.o] Error 1

$ svn info | grep Rev
Revision: 141

Hi,

Sorry - that was a terribly broken commit. Sometimes I think I'm John Wayne :P

In any case, I've just committed a better revision that does proper
error reporting on that section. It probably won't fix the problem but
it might give us better idea of what is wrong.

Thanks again,

Shahar.

Hi,
Got it compiled and with more details:

$ glista
Error loading config file: [4] No such file or directory
Using default configuration.

(glista:29408): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
Using the fallback 'C' locale.

(glista:29408): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_buildable_custom_tag_start:

assertion `GTK_IS_BUILDABLE (buildable)' failed
Unable to read icon data file

/usr/local/share/glista/glista-icons.xml: Unhandled tag: 'sources'
Unable to initialize UI.

The glista-icons.xml file is exactly the one from SVN for rev 142

Cheers,

That's very odd..

From what I understand this error means that your version of
GtkBuilder or GtkIconFactory doesn't understand the '<sources>' tag in
the XML, and according to the docs this is not some new change.

What version of Gtk+ do you have installed? I know it works well on
Ubuntu 8.10 but I don't remember if I tried it on 8.04..

Shahar.

Ok, I've just found out that GtkBuildable interface was only
implemented for GtkIconFactory in Gtk+ 2.14 - so that makes the Ubuntu
8.04 version of Gtk+ incompatible.

I will either fix my code to work with older Gtk+, or just bump up the
required version of Gtk+ - depending on how hard doing the first one
is going to be.

Thanks for reporting,

Shahar.

I know it's a surprise, but I think I've fixed this in trunk (rev. 158).

Happy Holidays!

Shahar.
