If you didn't watch it completely though (exited during the closing credits or the like), there may be a chance that it is still under the "Continue Watching" section. Located under the "Featured" section. Other that that, no Recently Watched/History section to the Roku Channel that I am aware of.

Why doesn't ROKU have a list of movies we recently watched. Often times, you close a movie I selected after a long pause when I intended to continue later or I fall asleep near the end and miss it all!! Makes me mad when either happens. I don't like that there is no way to view a list of recently watched movies because without knowing the title or actors, there is no way to search for the movie and it's a wipe out for me. Not happy!!

ROKU definitely needs to add a "recently watched" feature. I started watching a really good movie (British) but had to put it on pause for about an hour. When I went back to watch it, Roku had reset itself. I can't remember the name of the movie, it's not listed in the "Continue Watching" section for some reason, and can't find it when searching through Roku. Very frustrating!

PS. Movie was about a mom who discovers that her daughter has joined a free love (hippy) commune instead of going to law school. Any help???

Hi same always happens to me ... I watched something similar it was called The Perfect Mother... Idk if that helps. Only other thing is if you searched it it would be under the search area you type in just type search and it saves your last 10 searches. Otherwise it could still be possibly in your recent watches. Hope that helps.

Most Roku apps have a "Continue Watching" feature built in. That is great for picking up where we left off when we go back to that same app, but we switch between 6 or more different apps to watch shows, and while some family members remember what shows are on what app, others do not, and it makes Roku seem "very user-unfriendly".

Please add a "Continue Watching" screen to the main menu of Roku and add whatever APIs are needed to let each app add the recently watched title and viewing position to the screen as it is being watched (in case Roku powers off or the Home button is pushed without warning). Also, please give each app a way to update the "Continue Watching" list periodically (like each time the home screen loads) so that when new episodes are released the title can show up on the list again if previously there was no more content to continue with.

Currently the biggest complaint I hear about us using Roku for all of our viewing in our family is how hard it is to pick up where they left off since they have to hunt through multiple apps. I also believe this is also a big hurdle for the much older users and the much younger viewers that don't want to have to keep searching for a title (or don't know how to search after someone else finds a title for them) that they have already started watching.

As you noted, this requires cooperation from the individual streaming services. Not all are participating (Disney+, Hulu, Peacock, Apple TV+) which makes it an incomplete offering. Paramount+ seems to have the best integration of the new additions. Selecting an item takes you directly to the show detail page and episode in the proper PROFILE. Some of the others (HBO Max, Prime Video) take you to a PROFILE page and then you have to proceed. I am also finding that not all Prime Video content is being acknowledged and added. Netflix content in your queue can appear and then disappear at times. Not sure how often the queues of individual services are checked. It would be helpful if there were an option to REFRESH all queues from participating services. Helpful if you move and resume content from multiple Roku devices.

it's driving me insane to have an accumulation of channels that I have no interest in watching in my recently watched. when I go to Claire it does nothing except make up "bing" noise. I have removed the app reset my Roku reinstalled the app the items continue there still won't clear recently watched channels, I've even done a Roku device factory default reset and it's still happening on all of my devices. How can I fix this or is it ROKU that has to fix this via an update?

This has been happening to me also. I've removed the Roku channel and re-installed it, attempted to delete the offending programming - usually OAN, Fox, Newsmax etc., all programming my elderly father watches while staying with me and the shows remain.

Last month, Roku placed these and similar programs in the Featured live TV line and apparently, enough people complained and asked that the shows be removed. it took a bit, but Roku finally removed the unwanted content. It appears it's time for that to happen again.

Also, I'd like an option that once a channel - OAN for example is removed - it CANNOT be resurrected. I block that BS for a reason. I DO NOT want it. How do I get this point to stick with the folks at Roku??!!

You can remove the content by using an online account, but after you remove it, the content returns. Even after a restart. There is no ability to remove the content using the streaming device on your TV. You receive no error messages. As I said, I want ALL right wing TV nonsense - Fox News Now, Real America's Voice, OAN and Newsmax 2 PERMANENTLY REMOVED from my TV. I shouldn't have to repeatedly perform the action to remove this trash and once the content is removed it should remain OFF my TV. Thanks,

Eunice - I've taken the app off and added it back on my TV and that does nothing. I've also gone online to my Roku account to the live channel. I can temporarily remove the offending trash from the recently watched line, but after a short time, it returns - even on my online Roku account. It's almost as if these programs are resistent to being taken off. If their programming weren't so flawed and erroneuos, I wouldn't have a problem keeping it in the queue. However, it's nothing but a bunch of misleading lies and misinformation. I DO NOT want it on my TV - PERIOD!

Hi - I receive no error messages after removing, reinstalling and restarting the app on my TV. This nonsense just keeps coming back after the restart. I can remove it from my online account and the same thing happens. This stuff just keeps returning like the proverbial bad penny.

This issue of MAX not keeping track of viewing progress might be addressed by directly contacting the channel provider's support and letting them know about this ongoing issue. Most channels on the Roku platform are developed and maintained by the channel providers themselves.

We're sorry to hear about the playback issue with the channel. Have you tried to remove the channel to see if it helps? If you haven't tried it yet, you can remove the affected channel and reinstall it.

To ensure the process is successful, restart your device before adding the channel again. We recommend doing this from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power > System restart (if you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step).

If the issue remains unresolved, I'd recommend reaching out to the channel provider directly to report the issue and request additional support. Many channels on the Roku platform are developed and maintained by the channel provider directly, and they'll be able to best assist.

Same issue. For any series started in Max since the switchover, the app does not keep track of all episodes watched on a given session, except for the very first one. When I return to the show later that day or next (for a new session), it asks if I want to start with episode 1 regardless of where I actually were. So I manually choose the correct next episode. And when I end that new session, only the episode I manually started with is recorded as having been watched, not any other ones. Then at next viewing session, the erroneous cycle repeats!

Observation: I had two series in-progress when the switch took place, and both of them picked up exactly where I had left them while the app was HBO Max. The issue, at least in my case, is if the show is started in Max.

Following. I am also having this issue. At first I thought it was just my two roku tv's not talking to each other about the show I'm watching on Max app, but even on the same TV it is inconsistent & the show I'm 10 episodes into doesn't even show up in "recently watched" so every time I open the app I have to search for the show and remember where I was...

If you see content in your recently viewed section, it's likely because someone else is using your Netflix profile, or you accidentally selected it and backed out of it.
