This post from Kurt Thiel, might interest some of you, especially if you like Winter Rallies.

 

Details

This is the first event in the 2017 Winter Rally Season. It is a Time-Speed-Distance(TSD) Road Rally.*See below for description of TSD.

This event will be approximately 170 miles on paved gravel and dirt roads. A good portion of the rally will be using rugged seasonal type roads.

Snow tires are recommended (all season tires will limit your speed group eligibility), towrope/strap, and 90 minutes of flares or one DOT triangle are required to compete.

Entry fees are $35/car for SCCA members, $45/car for Non-members.
There is a 35 car limit,so pre-­registration is recommended. To pre-register email the rallymaster(see below).
Series classes are Equipped, Limited, Stock, and Novice.

Schedule:
Registration: 3:00-4:00 pm
Novice School: 3:45 pm
Driver’s Meeting: 4:15 pm
First Car Off: 4:31 pm
First Car Finishes: 10:30 pm (approx.)

Vehicle and driver requirements:
Snow tires recommended (all seasons may limit your speed group eligibility)
Tow rope/strap
One (1) DOT Reflective Triangle (or 90 minutes of road flares)
Valid Driver’s license and proof of insurance
Current State Inspection Sticker

*TSD Road Rallies are conducted on normal open roads, within legal speed limits. The objective is to always be 'On Time'. On Time is determined by a set of instructions which describe the route and an average speed for all portions of the route.
