This weekend, Saturday, August 31st, Glen Region event #5 Out of/sorta in region run by our friends at SNY SCCA at the Chemung Speedrome 3/8 oval autocross:

I’ll definitely be there for some great open wheel to wheel races this summer, along with Watkins Glen.  Great racing!

 

Please be respectful of both the track, who is graciously is hosting us, and the neighbors around the area by being clean/picking up your stuff, keeping the engine noise, and driving behavior coming and going reasonable.

    7:00am to 8:30am: Course/Equipment Setup (Assistance for course/equipment setup is always welcome)

    8:00am to 9:00am: Registration/check-in (CHECK-IN IS MANDATORY), Tech Inspection, and Course Walks

    SCCA Solo Tech Sheet Fill this out prior to event to save time and minimize contact during tech inspection.

    Competitor must be in line for registration by 9am. Registration after 9am is at the discretion of the Event Chairman. Late fee will apply if approved.

    9:20am: REQUIRED Driver's Meeting (All drivers must attend!)

    9:40am: Novice Course Walk with Novice Chief

    10:00am: The first car off the line!

    We normally run 4 heats throughout the day. Two morning heats and two afternoon heats. Each competitor will run one morning heat and one afternoon heat. You are required to work 1 of the 2 heats that you are not driving. Heat numbers and work assignments can be adjusted prior to the event based on turnout.

Directions:

NY-17/I-86 about 10 mi east of Elmira and 5 mi west of Waverly, NY and Sayre/Athens, PA.

 

 

Nearest quicker food and gas locations are in Wilawana at Sunoco/Dandy (Subway) about 5 mins away East on NY 17/I-86 plus Soprano’s Market in Waverly or usual fast food in Sayre, PA 10 mins away.

Nearest gas stations are on NY-352/Dennison Parkway in Corning: Sunoco/Dandy Mart and Mobil/7-11

Nearest Auto parts stores are NAPA, Advance Auto Parts,and AutoZone in Sayre, PA on Elmira and Franklin Street.
