WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (Aug. 17, 2018) – The Grand Prix Festival at Watkins Glen is seeking volunteers necessary for the continued success of one of the region’s premier events, which honors the racing history of Watkins Glen.

“It takes a team of more than 100 volunteers to produce this celebration of our passion for sports cars and the racing history so important to the region,” Marianne Marts, festival management team leader, said. “And you don’t have to be a motorhead to experience the excitement of being part of the Grand Prix Festival.”

This year is the 25th anniversary of the Grand Prix Festival, presented by Chemung Canal Trust Co. The festival will be Friday, Sept. 7, on the streets of Watkins Glen. This year’s featured car is the Jaguar.

Volunteer tasks at the daylong event range from registering drivers in sports car rallies to directing traffic to selling merchandise.

Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to contact Carole Pierce, events director for Watkins Glen Promotions, which manages the Grand Prix Festival. Pierce can be reached at (607) 535-3003 or by email at eve...@watkinsglen.com.
