This may interest some of you.
CNY SCCA is holding an autocross at WGI on Sunday.
For the reasons described below, if you want to attend you need to sign-up by Friday afternoon.
I'm going.
Bruce

Subject: CNY SCCA at WGI 8/22 Changes - PLEASE READ

Thank you again for registering for the CNY autocross in the North Paddock of WGI. We are looking forward to Sunday!
I do need to make everyone aware of two small, yet important, changes that I just learned of late today:
First: registration now closes at 3:00PM on Friday. After that, there can be NO additions. Entrants can always cancel later.
The reason for this change is because I need to send WGI one and ONLY one list of ALL attendees on Friday afternoon. Only people on this list will be allowed to enter the facility. WGI will not accept additions after the list has been submitted. So, if you know of someone who is thinking of joining us, PLEASE urge them to sign up ASAP.
Second: only event staff, participants, and crew will be allowed to enter the grounds.
WGI is specifically excluding spectators, family, and photographers. If you are planning on brining a non-participating friend/family member, that can only be allow if he/she agrees to work the course (or some other role) for at least one heat. I promise to assign all non-driving volunteers to very easy positions. It never hurts to have another set of eyes on the course. The key here is I absolute MUST know the names of the volunteers by the 3PM Friday deadline – so be sure to e-mail me. There is no charge to crew/volunteer, so PLEASE send me the name of anyone you think you may bring with you. If they are on the list and choose not to come, that is perfectly fine. No need to tell me the volunteer choose not to attend.
Everyone must be 18 or older and have a state issued ID to enter.
As a reminder, full refunds will be issued to anyone who cancels before 8:00AM on Saturday morning. You can cancel your registration anytime – even after registration close. You can also modify your registration anytime (except name changes).
The usual, more detailed, email will be sent out to everyone on Friday evening or Saturday morning.
Thank you for your understanding,
Mark Mangicaro

Sorry to hijack, but there’s also an SNYR event at the Binghamton airport on Sunday. Too bad they’re not on different days :)

I can’t answer that with 100% certainty, but the notification below is found on the registration page. That said, it might be good to double check with SNY. They’re pretty responsive on Facebook.

I'm registered for WGI.
Anyone else? Or are now planning for Binghamton?

I’ll be at Watkins, along with Steve Eberhard and Joe Scaptura. Also another e36 friend will be there as well!

Yes, its unfortunate there are two events on the same day.  I was going to go the the Southern Region event, but given that on some days I can literally hear cars on track at WGI from my house I pretty much have to go to the local event.

I do hope enough folks dust off their cars and come out to make both events a success.  Those autocross tires in your garage aren't getting any younger!  The WGI paddock gives enough space for a decent course, and the first Binghamton Airport event featured a flowing, fast course that was a lot of fun.
