Subject: Test n' Tune Saturday and Next Glen Region Autocross #3 Out of Region this Sunday at Seneca Army Depot run by Finger Lakes Region SC
To: Mark Lockhart <jcw...@gmail.com>, Lockhart, Mark J <Lockh...@corning.com>

Thanks to you!

Thanks for coming out our Event #3 of the Glen Region SCCA Autocross Championship at Corning Community College.  It was great to see many of our fellow racers from CNY, SNY, FLR join us to run and help us run the event.

Results are available for the events #1-2 on the Glen Region website

Class results, Points, and PAX are posted on the Glen Region SCCA website: https://www.glen-scca.org/solo/schedule.asp

Test n’ Tune this Saturday, July 19th and Next Glen Region SCCA Autocross Event #4 this Sunday July 20th: out of Region at the Seneca Army Depot run by our friends in the Finger Lakes Region

Test n’ Tune highly recommended to attend to learn how to be a better racer.  FLR uses the same course each time, so you can, like Road Racing, learn the course quickly and focus on getting better and better.   The course has 3 elements used in autocross courses: offset balance turn, hairpin, and slaloms with of each mixed in.  There are friendly experienced National level instructors who can ride with you and give you useful guidance to learn to go faster and be more consistent.

Even if you have lots of experience, the practice alone is worth it.  FLR also has Test n’ Tune on the Saturdays of many of their Autocrosses.  Check their schedule at https://www.flr-scca.com

Location: 6468 NY-96A

From South: Take NY-414 from to Watkins Glen to NY-96A North

From Ithaca: NY-96 from Ithaca through Ovid to NY-96A

From North: Take NY-96A South from Geneva

Special notes different than Glen Region SCCA events:

  1. You must pre-register via Motorsport Reg for each event – there is a $10 discount for entering both the Test n’ Tune and Autocross!
    1. Saturday July 19th Test n’ Tune: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/2025-flr-tnt-6-seneca-army-depot-scca-finger-lakes-solo-339684

    1. Sunday July 20th Autocross event: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/2025-flr-event-6-seneca-army-depot-scca-finger-lakes-solo-228998

  1. FLR uses unique numbers and not by class.  Meaning there is only one #7 for all cars, etc.  So, your number in other regions may not be available, use alternate number or use tape/shoe polish for numbers.
  2. FLR tends to have many more entrants and is run very well and has to be efficient to run so many entrants, so pay attention to when you need to be ready to run or work.
    1. Pay attention to the run groups:

                                          i.    Cars are gridded by run group prior to the getting to the start line

                                         ii.    Your worker assignment.

  1. Entry fees are different:
    1. $55 for SCCA members each event with $10 off for doing both
    2. $75 for non-members (we credit difference towards membership)

Pre-Registration only by Friday Midnight on MotorsportReg:

    1. You will not be charged until AFTER registration closes: Friday 7/18 @ 8PM
    2. Registration will close the midnight two days before the event. We have to do this to assign work and run groups efficiently. There will be no walk ups, no day-of registrations, and no cash payments on site
    3. Participants will be emailed about guidelines and responsibilities prior to the event once registration is closed

Schedule:

    1. 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.              Pre-registration check-in & Tech
    1. 9:30 a.m.                                 Mandatory Drivers’ Meeting followed by   a novice walk of the course
    2. 10:00 a.m.                               First Car Off
    1. 12:30 p.m.                               Informal Lunch Break (time allowing)
    2. 1:15 p.m.                                 Afternoon Runs Start
    3. 4:30 p.m.                                 Clean up & awards!

There may be onsite food for sale thanks to Finger Lakes Region for Sunday autocross.  Nearest other food locations are in downtown Ovid about 10 mins away.

Nearest gas stations 10-30 mins away: Fastrac in Ovid, Sunoco in Hector & Watkins Glen, Sinclair in Watkins Glen
