Thanks for coming to Event #6 of the Glen Region SCCA Autocross Championship at Corning Community College. Results for both the Out of Region #5 at Chemung Speedrome hosted by SNY SCCA and #6 at Corning Community College are posted. Thanks to our friends at SNY SCCA for a great event and after event at Diversion Brewing.

Next Glen Region SCCA Autocross Event #7 Sunday Septembber 29th: US Grand Prix Tribute Autocross at Watkins Glen International Media Lot – Mark Mangicaro is event Chair -Please help with course setup Saturday at 4 PM
We will have limited help for course setup, Mark will not be able to attend due to a prior commitment, so please show up if you can.
For those who have not been to Watkins Glen International recently, the Registration building and the Sheriff’s Building at the corner of County Route 16 and Bronson Hill Road (just outside of Turn 1/The 90) has been torn down. A new gorgeous Administration building will be built there for next season that will include race event registration, administration, police, etc.
Turn onto Bronson Hill Road from County Route 16. Drive through the gate – it will be open 8-9 AM and then please close it, leave unlocked, if you need to leave and come back. The Media lot is on Bronson Hill Road behind the braking zone for Turn 1/The 90 and Front Stretch Grandstand. The paddock for autocross is next to the short Media Lot road and will be where registration is. We will use the Media Lot road for staging the Start.
Schedule:
- 8 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Pre-registration check-in, registration, & Tech – Please bring cash or check, as we do not have Credit Card working at this time - thanks
- 9:30 a.m. Mandatory Drivers’ Meeting followed by a novice walk of the course
- 10:00 a.m. First Car Off
- Around noon Informal Lunch Break (time allowing)
- 1:00 p.m. Afternoon Runs Start
- Before 4:00 p.m. Clean up & awards!
- After event Seneca Lodge at Watkins Glen State Park
Nearest quicker food locations are in downtown Watkins Glen about 10 mins away: Jerlando’s Pizza and Italian food, Pudgie’s “Pizza”, Glen Mountain Market Deli, House of Hong Chinese, Lucky Star Chinese, Dunkin, Burger King, Subway, and the many other restaurants that if you call ahead can be picked up. There’s no shortage of ice cream joints in Watkins Glen as well. Montour Falls also has the other Jerlando’s location.
Nearest gas stations are on NY-14/414 Franklin Street: Sunoco and Sinclair (yes, the same Dino from 1960s and back!). Sunoco Race Fuels station at WGI is open for the rare few who use race gas.
Nearest open Auto parts store is Advance Auto Parts in Watkins Glen in Tops plaza on Franklin Street.

Leave Watkins Glen International – turn right onto Country Route 16 for two miles and just before NY 414, turn left onto County Route 17. Go about 1 mile until intersection with NY 329. Continue to Franklin Street after turning left at the Sinclair Gas Station. Proceed 7 blocks. Parking for trailers is behind the Glen Theather across from Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel.
