That's tomorrow Saturday.

The Graffiti training was good, it has improved since the last time, and there is more equipment available for us volunteers to use.  Here are a couple of highlights:

Trash pickup is now considered an integral part of graffiti cleanup - the kit includes trash bags.

There is now an iPhone app for reporting graffiti (and some other things like potholes), called City of Portland PDX Reporter.  Available for Android as well.

In the training, Marcia emphasized the reporting aspect, and swore to god that they are getting better about following up on the reports.   This is not so interesting to me personally, I just want to go get rid of it.  But I got to thinking, that is kind of a dirty job and a bit strenuous.  So for all of those who have bad backs or just don't like to get dirty, you can also help by reporting.  There are a lot of things we aren't allowed to clean.

Regards,

Graham

Hm.  The short answer is three stars out of five.

My hero of the day was Jessica, who was the One New Person to show up for cleanup !
In addition to her, it was Tom Barnes, Donna Dionne, and myself.  I decided I didn't mind the low turnout as I was only organized enough to accommodate one new person anyway.
We got most of Glisan, Stark, 148th, and 162nd, and about half of Burnside.
The iPhone app for reporting works pretty well.
I obtained one new removal agreement for a property on Burnside and asked Marcia for pressure-washing there.

I would like to tentatively schedule the next field day for Saturday September 8th.

Regards,

Graham
