Ali,
One of our students at HCC was amazing with her
record keeping.
First she photographed each piece, gave it a
"catalogue number" described the clay body, the glaze, the date and if or if not
it was sold. The photos were reproduced very small and entered into a
binder with plastic sheets with ....oh...maybe 16 plastic inserts where she put
the photo and all the information. It was totally awesome and I wish I had
paid more attention. She's a very generous potter (and also a world
renowned illustrator. If you Google Jackie Shaw, or enter her name in
Amazon, you'll get lots of hits) and I'll ask her the details of how she created
her binder of her work, which, was unique--- She did calligraphy engraving
on most of her pieces with personal message accompanied by fleurs-de-lis, flower
designs, ivy designs, what ever added to the overall composition.
Beautiful, and something that is quite beyond me. She gave us a
small bowl and sometime during a get together, I'll bring
it.
Nikki
