I have a couple of videos on my USB and one of them works *perfectly*. The other is a better quality video and I am finding that the audio is quite far ahead of the actual video playback. I have done some research and note that there is a 'audio delay' slider on the playback of the video which can be adjusted - but the experience of this is fiddely and ideally shouldn't be required.

Then there is an advancedsettings.xml people have been discussing where you can set a default for all videos, however my concern is that this 'delay' is different on every movie and therefore a big problem.

I don't see why this is an issue on kodi - where I can play the same files on a mac or a windows PC without doing anything and the audio and video is in sync perfectly (clearly this isn't a video file based issue, more something on the method of playback)

Enable "adjust refresh" so that Kodi switches to the native resolution of the video, and set the mode whitelist in video settings to use 60/59.94/50/24/23.976 modes. Then play some videos and see if that resolved it?

None of these options have made any difference and the audio delay settings don't help because it is the video which seemingly is around 3 seconds slower than the audio (comparing the time taken to view the video to a specific recognised scene).

I have a few videos where I have to adjust the audio. I did find that it could be fixed permanently by using avidemux ( ) but its a lot of fiddling to find the right adjustment. I decided that unless it was something I'd watch time and time again I'd just adjust in Kodi.

LybsterKodi - the problem is, it doesn't matter what I do to the audio delay setting - it almost has no effect. Very strange.

At this point I cant use Kodi for the purpose I need it to.

Could this simply be gtrying to watch 1080P videos on a Raspberry pi 2 is not really going to work?

You could try if it works with LE 9.2.x as I think that it has a special implementation, which is not and will not be available with 10.x.y.
Search on this forum to see if and how and with what constraints it could be possible.

Hello, I have problem with my audio being more and more out of sync with video while watching video stream on the edge(all release channels). It doesn't matter if I watch youtube, netflix or any other video stream webiste. Same goes for chrome. On firefox all is just fine. Also watching videos offline in some destop video player works just fine. The issue occurs only on edge and chrome. I'm using Realtek audio card. Any idea how to fix that?

@HotCakeXwell I'm sorry but it had no effect at all. Audio is still out of sync. The longer video plays the bigger de-synchronization is. If I pause the video and resume it again it works fine for a minute or two and then again it get desynchronised.

Just bought this soundbar, which sounds brilliant but I am getting sync issue with speak, but strangley only when weatching TV shows on SKY Q, Films on SKY Q seem to be ok?
I have SKY Q plugged intothe HDMI port on teh soundbar and then HDMI ARC connected to my TV ARC HDMI port.
TV is a Samsung UE50MU6100.

Dosesnt maker any difference, but in gener it seems to have sorted it self out since I did a factory reset on it.

Question about this link you sent, PCM meansthat the sound is decoded by the TV, which is not what I want to do as I want DTS/ATMOS which the Soundbar decodes, therfore needs to be set to Bitstream.

Also why cant you see the sound level display screen (and any other soundbar screen)when on TV ARC, it only shows up when viewing content form the HDMI port. Really annoying when playing teh Xbox or Netflix TV App, as I cant see teh sound modes/sound levels

I have audio sync issues with Sky TV with this soundbar. Try switching dolby digital audio output to normal in Sky tv settings. That seems to resolve the lip sync issues for me but doesnt give the desired audio output. I have noticed that the lip sync issues vary between different types of program as well which really didnt help when i was adjusting the delays in the sky menus to fix it (which didnt by the way). I now have abother issue with the soundbar after applying the latest firmware which i have commented on this forum. Not happy with this soundbar and am regretting buying it. Sony need to sort these issues...

The audio delay issue is particularly terrible when using Atmos. There's barely any delay with DTS or 2-channel PCM. I'm assuming (as far as I understand it, at least) that this is because the TV is doing some re-encoding to pass Atmos through ARC which, unlike eARC, does not have the bandwidth to pass "true" Atmos.

If it were me, I would do a factory reset but tell the initial setup you'll connect to internet later. This seems to use some less adulterated/bloated version of Roku's software. You might find that that works better. If you need to stream, then add an external streaming device to HDMI.

I've reset my 635 and skipped giving the unit access to a network connection. The problem remains - no better or worse than before. Here's a video example. The audio is low but it does show the issue:

Of interest is that once I've set it to DTS, Auto passthrough, and then power cycled the TV, the delay in DTS mode is barely noticeable. It doesn't resolve the issue with Atmos, but at least DTS is better than stereo PCM.

TV audio setup is set to "Automatic transmission" rather than "Auto detect" and it seem to have the same result as setting explicitely to PCM Stereo, which I would assume will still enable Dolby content from internal streaming app.

The delay varies based on the input I select on the TV, or whether I'm using the TV's built in apps. Based on the input I select I have to go into the TV's audio settings and change back and forth between Auto Detect and Auto Passthrough. With the TV's internal apps I have to set it to Auto Passthrough. With an external device I have to set it to Auto Detect. These settings usually sync the audio and video.

As I mentioned in a couple of other threads, TCL told me yesterday that the problem is a known issue with the Roku software and it's supposed to be fixed in firmware update 10.0. I'll believe it when I see it.

Constantly fiddling around audio settings in the TV isn't acceptable. I tried that as well. It will sometimes reduce the audio delay but there is still a perceptible delay. In a FPS game, firing a gun has the sound delayed enough that it's quite distracting; I must be sensible to this kind of thing.

As for the update. You couldn't have said it better! Do you know if there's a hard ETA on it? I still have 2.5 weeks before I'm out of the return window. I still want to keep this TV as the closest competitor I found available where I live (Sony X900H) is close to twice the price I paid for the TCL. But if that update does not come in really soon, I will pay the extra to get over this mess.

This whole issue is way too much trouble for what it's worth. I have had this TV for a little over a week now and I wonder what other types of issues I will encounter in the future. I mean, outputting audio is not some weird and rare scenario; it's pretty basic TV functionality. If this is broken, what else is?

Excitedly bought the C635, which is actually my first TV upgrade in 14 years. But I can't overcome the audio delay even though all I'm using are TV speakers. I've experimented with every setting I possible could on the TV and Xbox Series X, but the audio delay is even there on stereo uncompressed.

Plus androidtv is just so much better than Roku... For once you can sideload apps like SmartTubeNext which is a YouTube app without adds and integrates Sponsorblock functionality. Something you cannot do on Roku.

Solution 1. Verify the sound on other applications. Try streaming Netflix, Hulu, or another streaming service to test if it's an issue with your device or with the Amazon Prime Video app. If other streaming services work fine on your device, contact the Prime Video team or move to the next solution.

Solution 2. Check your internet connection: A poor or unstable internet connection can cause audio sync issues.
