I remember seeing Drivewear lenses as an option at 39dollarglasses -
but it seems to be gone now. All they carry is Polarized CR-39™
optical resin Sun Lenses and Polarized Polycarbonate Sun Lenses. Does
anyone know who still carries Drivewear, or an equivalent?

Also, I noticed 39dollarglasses has 3 other Transitions branded lenses
(Next Generation, Quantum, and Ellipse). On zennioptical they carry
Transitions VI. Anyone have clues as to which is better/worse or why
there are so many options? There's even more when you include
bifocals. http://www.39dollarglasses.com/product_info/about_our_lenses.html

Thanks!

framesdirect.com carries drivewear. Their prices are no great bargain,
but are lower than brick-and-mortar on name-brand lenses and frames.

eyeglasslensdirect.com sells lenses only, and also carries Drivewear.
You send in your own frame. They welcome either re-lensing or new
frames bought elsewhere. Lens prices are not low like Zenni, but
decent.

I've used both of these companies. In each case, I received good but
slow service, with excellent quality and workmanship on the lenses and
mounting. I have bought Transitions from framesdirect, but have not
tried Drivewear at all.

Ira is working on a review of this category of online providers, who
specialize in fancy frames and higher-end products like Drivewear. I
only use them when I can't find what I want or need at a cheaper
place.

I have a strong and unusual prescription, and usually have to pay
various upcharges at the bargain websites. If that's also the case in
your prescription, you may find that eyeglasslensdirect or
framesdirect ends up being not that much higher.

On the other hand, if you have a mild prescription and don't want
something specialized like Drivewear, it's hard to beat
39dollarglasses, eyebuydirect, or zenni, for basic glasses.

They do still list Drivewear - but only for single vision or lined bi-
focal glasses. It is listed as
Single Vision :
Pkg XC - Drivewear® NuPolar®-Transitions® Polarized Sun Lenses
$128.00

Bifocal Lenses (with a line)
Pkg XJC - Drivewear® NuPolar®-Transitions® Polarized Sun Lenses
$178.00

I got a pair a pair progressive bifocal over a year ago & I really do
like them for driving.

Hi,

Newbie here.

I've been searching around for re-lensing options and I just saw
drivewear on 39$E. yesterday. going there now, I was able to set up
the "Moscow" frame with drivewear in the cart. $128 for frame and
lenses. Perhaps your Rx is out of their stock range of drivewear?
