Hey all,
I'm looking for a rounded frame like this: http://eyeglass.com/laeyfapie.html
I've searched all usual suspects, but haven't been able to find an
affordable version. Also, does anyone know what this style is
called? Thanks.

Yes...I've been looking for something exactly like that too..I already
know that the Zenni frames 2307 and the 4419 aren't it, but the 4419
are nice glasses...

round with a flattened top, in acetate and in metal( like the Shuron
Ronstrong)...I'd like to find both in something affordable, altho I'll
probably spring for the Shuron's...

forgot to mention that the Zenni 2307...for $10 they are a nice pair
of glasses, the frames aren't cheapy at all..they are a bit more oval
than I was looking for...more like an oval with a dropped bottom..the
tortoise shell colour is nice and subtle..I'm wearing them this
morning..I like them, they just aren't exactly what I was looking
for...

the 4419 are more squarish than I was looking for.. the frames are
quite nice quality, the colouring is very nice...still not exactly
what I was looking for...

I thought I remembered seeing that particular frame, before...

The originals were likely Shuron.  Surely you could get them inexpensively, and probably vintage, through a site like eBay.  I've looked at several of our usual sites, and they don't carry any frames that look exactly like this one.  It's the full-fledged roundness that seems to be the problem.

So, tell us...  Have you got a Buckeye NewsHawk Award or, perhaps, one of the coveted Silver Sow Awards?  And, do you wear a bowtie and bandage, every day?

we always called them English Schoolboy Glasses, and we wore them when
we were younger...

Haha, it's a fine line, right? Anyway, thanks to everyone for the
suggestions. I may give the Zenni 2307 a shot, just because they're
so cheap. The Anglo American 406 (http://www.eyeglasses.com/anglo-
american/aa406.html) is also really nice, but with lenses it would be
about $200 more. The British school boy description was also right
on, but those are also $100+ without lenses (http://www.focusers.com/
govpoorboys.html). Ebay was a good suggestion too, although I've
bought vintage frames from there before that didn't quite work out.
Thanks again.

Here are the same frames for $139. The nose bridge is *slightly*
different, but I doubt anyone tell and for an almost $300 savings.

Might have helped if I'd put in the URL <senior moment>. :)

The lens shape is called panto, P-3, Marshwood, Ful-Vue, maybe another
name or two. It's a modified circle with a flattened top.

Here's a fairly close match at a much better price, though the lens
height is "updated" to be a bit less: http://www.goggles4u.com/detail.asp?Pid=31088

I just ordered a pair, and they still list it, so maybe they even have
more than one left. (Since they seem to be dealing with constantly
rotating leftovers, Goggles4U is known for having very few or maybe
even only one of any particular frame in stock.)
