I have a contacts prescription, but I want to get a pair of glasses.

I used this calculator to calculate my glasses prescription:
http://www.numericalexample.com/content/view/32/33

It tells me my glasses prescription is -1.01, when my contact
prescription is -1. Does this sound right to you?

In this case, my glasses prescription would be basically the same as
my contacts prescription, right?

Thank you

You are right!

Here is why I think so.

I just had an eye exam 3 weeks ago for both contacts and glasses. The
optometrist gave me the prescription for both. The only difference is
the ADD for contacts in my right eye is +2.0 and +1.50 for left eye,
but for glasses, they are ADD +1.50 for both eyes. The SPH is the same
for both eyes, and the SPH are the same for both contacts and glasses:
-2.50

In practice, it would make no difference if you are to shop for
glasses online, you will notice that the power increment for SPH is
0.25. Same for buying contacts online.

I was going to order my glasses online while I was in the process of
getting my contacts fitted. But I waited to make sure because I was
concerned that the prescription for the glasses will be different from
the contact.

While waiting for the fitting process to complete (2 follow-ups from
the eye exam), I came across the same link you posted here and did a
calculation for my glasses prescription. Turned out, the difference is
very, very small (-2.50 for contact and -2.58 or -2.59)

With your SPH so small (-1.0), I doubt you can tell the difference of
-0.01.

:)
