Okay, the G4U site is driving me batty! I'm trying to find my husband
a pair of glasses, and the temple lengths seem improbably short. For
instance, there are tons of glasses with total widths of 138-140 with
temples of 125 or 130, and almost none with temple lengths of anything
above 138. I live chatted, and they assured me that every pair of
glasses had been double checked.

So what gives?? Are they really all super wide compared to temple
length, or have they messed up their measurements??

They don't have long temple arms. It's one of the many reasons I don't
even bother looking at their site.

I also found that they had almost nothing (or maybe absolutely
nothing) with a temple of 140 or 145. Can't say if they made a mistake
but if they've got bigger frames they're not telling us about, it's
there loss I figure.

Some of the longer temple lengths are at the end of the site. I've
seen some at 135. Here is a link that should take you to all the 135
or greater temple lengths.

Well that is actually G4U strong point to have many models with temple
length in the 125-135 range, too many vendors and brick and mortar
store only carry 140mm+ temples that they have to bend like crazy to
have a proper fit for people need shorter temples.

From my experience, G4U's info on temple length is not always correct
most of the time. I order on many occasions frame with 125, 130, 135
and they all turn out to be 5mm longer once I take a look at what is
written on the frames.

Where have you seen this? I have found this to be almost entirely NOT
the case in my experience. I'm most comfortable in 140mm and they're a
pain to find on and offline.

I know 140mm is the standard average length at most dispensing
opticians and most online vendors, just take a look at EyeBuyDirect
and Zenni etc..., since most keep a physical inventory of the frames
and a shorter temple would could delay or break a sale$$$, so most
will stock a longer temple length that they can bend if needed. At
most dispensing opticians, right after the Rx, they are encouraged
to select a frame to seal the deal or else the customer will go
somewhere else if an appropriate frame is not found. I recently even
been to a shop around here that has baskets for clients waiting for
their RX appointments to walk around their huge frame store to select
frames they like and place them in the basket prior to their eye
examine.
