I bought these glasses at LBW Eyewear on Jan 17, 2007.

1 WR058 Rimless Stainless Steel
Frame @ $ 40.85 = $ 40.85

PD=64,OSsphere=-2.25,OScylinder=-0.25,OSaxis=30,ODsphere=-1.75,ODcylinder=-0.75,ODaxis=99,LensType=1.59
Poly Carb Lenses (+ $ 9.95),LensTint=No Sun Tint
Selected,FrameColor=Gun Metal Colored Frame,ARCoating=AR Coating (+ $
4.95)

Subtotal: $ 40.85
Taxes: $ 0.00
Shipping: $ 6.50 (USPS First Class)
------------------------------------------
Total: $ 47.35

After one of the lenses shattered, I had them checked out by Pearl
Vision and was told the lenses are cheap plastic. The lenses were to
be Poly-carbon. LBW Eyewear refuses to admit they shipped cheap
lenses. No replacement, no communication, stay away from this outfit.

Any reason to trust Pearle?

I am curious to know how your lens shattered. Did it shatter when you
put it on or taking if off? Where did the crack originate?

Also, how do your lenses mounted on the frame?

I never had the rimless frames until a few months ago. The rimless
frames I got from Zenni use screws and nuts to hold the lenses to the
frames. The lenses are not even poly, just the 1.57 index lenses, so I
am kind of wondering how long I can keep the lenses from breaking or
shattering. :)

Thanks.

Sorry about your bad experience. My round, full rim glasses continue
to satisfy.

Zenni claims that they only use polycarbonate lenses (http://
zennioptical.com/cart/pages.php?pageid=8).

I got rimless glasses from Zenni, and I swapped lenses a couple of
times between two different rimless frames. I ended up with a crack
between the notch and the screw hole on one lens (probably while
wiggling it off past the nosepiece), but it's still usable. Next time,
I'll move the nosepieces out of the way of the lens removal path
before starting.

It's too bad that CR-39 is not supposed to be suitable for rimless
glasses.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience! I have five pairs from LBW
and they are all in great shape! LBW is one of my favorite places I
hope they clear things up for you!
