What's the longest amount of time you've had to wait for an order from
Zenni? Were you happy with the glasses once they arrived? Did you ever
NOT receive an order fron Zenni?

I kid you not.
But they did EVENTUALLY come.

Longest wait was just shy of 3 weeks (the ones I received in today's
mail). Ordered 2 pairs on 1/13, got them today. Shortest time was 10
business days back in October. Have about a dozen pairs from Zenni and
all have been perfect--better than some I've paid hundreds for. A
couple weren't ideal for my face, but those were $12, so no biggie.
Never didn't receive an order.

My last pair of glasses from Zenni were ordered Oct. 20, 2008. I got
them Nov. 17. They emailed me in the interim with this on Nov. 12:

Dear Mr. XXXX,

Your order is back on track!

We at Zenni Optical pride ourselves in the speed with which we
deliver to our customers. Unfortunately, one of our shipments was
delayed by Customs due to a bureaucratic oversight.

Your order XXXX was part of that shipment. That shipment has now been
released and we are working extra hours to get your order to you as
soon as possible. We plan to ship all orders within the next 48 hours;
you should receive your order a few business days thereafter.

Please expect a subsequent email with your tracking number in the
next few days.

Sincerely,
Zenni Optical Customer Service

If I'd remembered just how long that pair took to get here, I wouldn't
have bought another pair, but now I'm waiting on the pair that I
ordered on Jan. 19. Hopefully, I'll get it without any trouble. Maybe
if we send a few emails their way, they'll wake up and figure out that
their shipping and customer service needs serious work. Twelve bucks
is a great price to pay for glasses, so I hope they get things
straightened out. I'm not going to buy from them again if it takes
that long to receive my order this time.

Update: just got an email:

02.02. 09

Dear Mr. XXXX,

We will ship your glasses from the lab in China on 4th February, and
the time when you get it may vary slightly depending on your
location. You could trace your order on HongKong Post website with
tracking number XXXX a week later. By the way, your patience will be
greatly appreciated.

Thank you for selecting Zenni Optical for your vision needs

(So hopefully I'll get them at, um, some point. Gotta love that Hong
Kong postal service.)

Just got this update (which does not contain a tracking number). We'll
see if the glasses actually arrive this week.

Dear Zenni Optical Customer (x...@yyy.com),

Your eyeglasses have been shipped out two days ago in the mail.
Please check your mailbox for the package in the next few days. Due
to the long Chinese Lunar Year holiday, the process of your order took
longer than the regular time. We apologize for the inconvenience
caused to you. Thank you for selecting Zenni Optical for your vision
needs.

I placed an order on Jan 5th. I tried contacted them by email and
phone last week with no luck.

so I'm currently sitting at four weeks since my order.

I am keeping my fingers crossed. It seems strange that some poeple
who order in mid-January have already had their orders processed. One
could worry that their order fell in a black hole.

The glasses arrived on 2/3 (ordered on 12/28). I was quite impressed
with the quality.

I also placed an order with Zenni on Jan 5th. I called a couple days
ago, and they said they just expressed shipped it this last weekend,
but they couldn't provide me with a tracking number. They said I
should have it by Wed, 2/4, so we'll see. I remain a little skeptical,
since they couldn't give me a tracking number.

BTW, I got in their phone waiting line as the 10th caller, and it
would count down my place in line, 10, 9, 8. etc. I thought that was
rather neat since I've never experienced that anywhere before. Maybe
they've upgraded their phone system.

Well, I got a USPS notification today (2/4/09) that a piece of
registered mail from Hong Kong was at the post office. I can only
assume it is my order. Therefore it took four weeks from the time I
ordered for some single vision glasses.
