Looks like no one has mentioned/brought up the question in the forums
here since 2009 regarding Replacement Lenses. Anyone have any thoughts/
insight?

Hate to donate a perfectly good pair of frames that I really like just
because they are 2 or 3 prescriptions behind - or those frames from
(un-named online optical shop) sent with the lenses cut wrong & does
not want them back.

Yes, there is Ira's post from back in 2008 - but that cost him $38 for
new lenses, might as well just get new frames!

So what is the deal with getting new lenses for your old frames
costing more that getting a new pair?

More places now offer relensing, and the prices vary quite a bit. (I just checked this a few days ago by googling "relensing." I don't know how good these low-cost vendors are. Or the high-cost ones, either. About a year or two ago, I had decent relensing done by Goggles4U and Wohl Optics.) If you like your frames enough, and can't find the same ones for sale with new lenses, then these days you should be able to find a place that will do relensing for a decent price.
