Zenni Optical Question

I've been browsing through the old threads and the blog and finally
placed an order with Zenni Optical on January 24th. I saw I my credit
card had been charged a few days afterwards but I didn't get any order
status or anything from Zenni so I decided to email them and check to
see if they had a tracking # for me.

I just received an email that they have been shipped from their
overseas lab to their office today and that they will send me a
tracking # once they arrive at their California office. I'm just a
bit surprised by this slow shipping from their overseas lab since
according to their email, the glasses are made within 48 hours of the
order being placed.

I'm just wondering, do you think that they forgot about my order
(since it wasn't shipped out until I followed up on it?)

I hate semantics...it always makes me feel like something underhanded
is going on. Zenni is renowned for accuracy and value...but not quick
delivery.

The statement you quoted said they would be *made* within 48
hours...not *shipped* within 48 hours. Zenni makes a huge number of
glasses, enough to imply shipment in a bulk shipping container.
Possibly they only ship out when they fill a container?

It's purely speculation on my part, but it would make sense.

I placed my order with Zenni on Jan 21 and haven't heard anything yet.
I'm anxious to get my glasses!

I send an email requesting an update and received this in response,
"we have sent your glasses from the overseas lab to our office on the
west coast on 2th Feb. And when the glasses are shipped from the
California office, you will receive a shipping tracking number by
e.mail at the address you put in the order form." Looks like things
are still in process and hopefully will get the glasses this week.

Hi - I placed two orders with Zenni in November. For my November 8
order, I received a shipping notice on November 18 with a tracking
number and I received the glasses on November 21 (I'm in Central NY).
I placed my second order on 11/16. I received a shipping notice with
tracking number on November 24 and I received the glasses on November
27. Hope that helps. I was very happy with all of the glasses I got
from them in terms of quality and accuracy in prescription. I did
return one pair that was too big for my face. Their customer service
got back to me right away and credited my card with a refund as soon
as they received the glasses I returned. I will certainly order from
Zenni again! I hope you like your glasses.

Ahh, that would make sense. I'll follow up with them later this week
if I don't get a tracking # from them I guess :P Thanks for the info!

I placed an order with them on February 2nd and I can't wait to get my
two new specs. My experience is that they take a while to ship but
they do email when they ship.

From forum reports posted recently, Zenni is currently taking between
2 and 3 weeks to deliver to your door.

I'd expect delivery in a similar time frame, regardless of the status
of the emails.

So Anna, did you get them?

Zenni told me (in a phone conversation) that mine must have caught the
wind just right in order for me to get them on the East Coast just
under two weeks from order time. I expected it to take longer, having
read everything I could find.

Chinese new year right now might add another week or so to that order, we had that sort of issue last year.

I just got my glasses and I'm very satisfied with them! :) I have to
say that the glasses are a bit thicker than I expected but that was
becuase I didn't do enough research regarding the lens thickness
before placing my order.

Overall, a very positive experience. I'm in the process of getting my
mom and sister to order glasses online now :)

I got a tracking number from Zenni yesterday (2/10) and am expecting
my glasses today or tomorrow (since I live in California). So it'll
be a little over 2.5 weeks after my initial order. Thanks for the
information everyone :)

I have done one order with Zenni last month. It was for a bifocal
bendable titanium with A/R coating. My order took 2 weeks from placing
the order to receiving the glasses. I did not receive any
communications from them until they told me the glasses had shipped.

I am very pleased with Zenni. I was able to get a quite decent pair of
frames/lenses with 2 clip-ons for about $55 shipped. My only complaint
with Zenni is that the lenses they will do as bifocals are taller than
I would like.

I, too, am very happy with Zenni. My glasses take a little longer than
2 weeks because I have a high prescription, but I have never had a
problem with any of the frames or lenses. My 15 year old has to go to
the eye doctor tonight and , I'm certain, will be getting his first
pair of glasses. Guess, what? They are gong to be coming from
Zenni...and he'll get 5 or 6 pair, not 1. I may be a pair locally so
he will have them faster, but the majority of his glasses will be from
Zenni.
