I placed my order for new glasses from Zenni Optical on July 11th.
They arrived today. They just don't feel quite right. I'm not sure
if the prescription is wrong (I plan to get it checked) or if my eyes
just need to adjust to my new and very slightly different
prescription. Here's what it looked like when I added them to my cart
on Zenni's website:

2218 Stylish Plastic Full-Rim Frame with Spring hinges

Lens Width 54mm, Height 28mm, Bridge 17mm
Frame Width 136mm,Temple Arm Length 143mm

(I've seen other people do that, so I figured I would do it, too.
don't shoot)

Some specifics on the issues:
- some objects seem very slightly concave. nothing too major, but, as
an example, I just looked at the door frame here in my office and the
straight wooden molding had the slightest curve to the left.
- when standing up and looking down at the floor, the floor looks as
though it's slanted (like I'm standing at the bottom of a very slight
incline)
- as you can see from above, I opted for the A/R coating. It doesn't
appear to be very anti-reflective, just that the reflections are in
shades of purple and green. This is especially distracting as the sun
is behind me, so I catch glimpses of green reflections out of the
corner of my left eye.
- I inspected them closely and it appears as though there are already
scratches in the coating on the lenses. Not the lenses themselves,
just that the surface is slightly marred. And I swear it wasn't me.

So, do you think the prescription is seriously wrong or am I just
being hypochondriacal? Could it be a faulty Anti-Reflective coating?
Should I have forgone it? Has anyone here had problems with Zenni's
Anti-Reflective coating?

Oh! I should also mention that I called Zenni sometime last week to
ask them about a pair of glasses that had narrower lenses than the
ones I ordered, but the website kept telling me that my PD was too
narrow for the frames. The customer service rep asked which glasses
I had ordered with them, so I gave him the order number and, upon
looking it up, he was surprised that the website had allowed me to
order the glasses. He thought, for sure, that they would be
considered too wide for my PD (which is actually 61.5, I had to round
up). So, could these problems be caused by having lenses that have
the proper PD, but are too wide?

Overall, I was pleased with the ease of ordering, the friendliness
(although, not exactly helpfulness) of the customer service rep and
the timeliness of production and shipment. I'm just not completely
sold on the quality of the end product yet.

Does Zenni always send you a ship notice? Still waiting for mine.

I ordered the #3396 and my PD is 70.

Lens Width 51mm, Height 26mm, Bridge 19mm
Frame Width 135mm,Temple Arm Length 138mm

My pupils are roughly centered on the lens width but not vertically.
Still I can see quite well as a computer glasses and for
*intermediate* distance (watching TV or seeing good enough across the
street).

As you can see, my lens width is 3 mm smaller than yours and my PD is
8 mm wider.

I suspect that it's possible that your PD is little narrower for the
frame.

I didn't get one. They just showed up. I was actually going to call
today to see if they had a tracking number or anything. But they
arrived. I've heard of some people getting shipping notices via
email, but that was not my experience.

I ordered from Zenni 3/4 times and never got the shipping notice.

I practically received the orders in 2 weeks.

It has been a puzzle to me when others received shipping notice but
never I got one.

Maybe SPAM filters have something to do with not receiving shipping notices?  It wouldn't be the first time that "your order has been processed" had triggered a SPAM rating for a message.

niaquinialli:
How different is your prescription, from what you had before?  Adjusting to a new prescription can, indeed, be problematic for some people.  I remember my discomfort when mine flipped...it went from +.75 to -.75...that sort of change.  And, the fact that you didn't order your exact PD could also be an issue...if something doesn't line up precisely with their choices, I always include it in the comments field.  For example, I *always* include my exact monocular PD measurements in the "comments" field at the bottom of the order form.

As to the antireflection coatings...they are not antireflective, but only minimize the reflections.  They do it pretty well, under normal and average conditions...but you're not going to make the lenses truly invisible under all lighting conditions.  I'd be willing to bet, though, that whatever dull green reflection you're seeing in the corner of your eye, now, would be blindingly bright and white sunlight without the AR coating.

I'm sorry to hear that you've had problems, but I genuinely think you're the exception.  I know of entirely too many people who are happy with their Zenni glasses...your comments represent an anomaly.  Something is not quite right.

Have them checked, locally, and contact Zenni with the results.  They do a tremendous numbers of glasses every month...it's *possible* that a mistake was made.  Heck, it's *possible* that a mistake was made at your eye doctor, too, when he wrote the prescription!

Zenni did send me one pair that was 0.25 diopter too high. Because of
the intended use, it's not a problem (and I discovered that the
"correct" prescription would actually have been too weak). If it had
been for a different purpose, I would have known a lot sooner and
probably would have sent them back.

I have a 61 PD, and I prefer smaller glasses.
I do think the curves and waviness you see is due to the PD beling low
for the frames.
The optical center of the lense is very near the inside of the frame,
so your going to get some optial effect when looking through the
oudside sides of the lenses, especiaally with your eye with the
astigmatism.

If you would have bought them in a B&M store they probabally would
have told you that.

But of course you can still buy 10 more paris from zenni and you will
have spent less that wheat the B&M store would have charged you for 1
pair.

Try these:

Don't get the A/R coating, it's funky.

My PD is 60, and when I tried to order a 54mm wide frame I got a pop
up notice there that the lens size was too large for my PD. I would
call them, and see if they will make some allowance for you on another
pair, as you probably should have received the same warning I did when
you tried to order them.
