Hi! I recently purchased from eyebuydirect, and was surprised that my
glasses arrived with the lens edges rounded / "rolled" but unpolished.
The resulting appearance is of lenses with wide white edges.

The manufacturer is offering a return but says that this is the way
they always finish their lenses. I'd like to know whether this really
is normal for eyebuydirect. I like the glasses, other than the
appearance of the edges of the lenses, and will re-order if this was
an error, but will look elsewhere if eyebuydirect really doesn't offer
polished edges.

What are your experiences?

Thanks!

Mine were unpolished. Many combinations of weaker prescriptions and
plastic frames often make polishing unnecessary, but an unpolished
thicker lens in a metal frame is pretty ugly. If you have the time,
you could remove the lenses yourself and do the edges with a polish
like Simichrome or Novus. There could well be polishes that work
quicker, or maybe an electric buffing wheel, which I don't have any
experience with.
