I ordered glasses from 39dollarglasses.com on 7/27/10 and I was
wondering how long before others who bought glasses from them had to
wait before getting them. I e-mailed them about 2 weeks ago and they
said they should be shipped the following week, but they still
haven't shipped. According to the website, "Your order has now been
sent to our laboratory. Your custom made prescription eyeglasses are
now being made to your exact specification." Is this typical, and if
so why do they claim much shorter times?

I have ordered 2 pairs of glasses from them. The first pair took 8
days to arrive while the second took 5 days, shipping from New York to
Louisiana. I also had to ship a pair back to be remade because I got
a new prescription shortly after getting them, and that took around 2
weeks.

Your experience with them does not mirror the experiences I had with
them.

Yes it is, especially if you have hi-index lenses.  Expect closer to 4-6 weeks.

No. That's too long. Forward me your order number and I'll try to find
out some info for you.

Thanks for your response. At these prices I don't mind the wait.I've
purchased glasses form Zenni and it took about a month from them, and
I am very happy with the glasses.

I just got off the phone with a representative of 39dollarglasses who
told me that they would be overnighting my glasses on wednesday sept.
8th and giving me a $20 credit too. Thank you Ira for your help. The
rep specifically mentioned your call, and I appreciate it. It's great
to have someone looking out for the consumer like you do.

and I bet the vendors appreciate him too, coz he catches and
helps out with these cases that have fallen through the
cracks.

Personally I'm grateful to Ira every time I get into my car and put
on my prescription sunglasses.

Thanks Ira!
