Your windows 10 has not been updated in a long time. We understand windows updates have given themselves a bad rep fairly recently, but the current fully updated build has been the most stable i have personally seen across thousands of computers with all sorts of different hardware.
I am not recommending installing all future updates prior to researching them, i am only recommending upgrading to the current build.
Microsoft's built-in note-taking app, OneNote, has been pen-friendly for a while. OneNote currently offers basic Windows Ink features that can help you take handwritten notes more efficiently, such as pencil, pen and highlighter tools in a variety of colors, plus a "convert to shapes" tool that turns freehand shapes into perfect geometry. Microsoft has announced new features, including a math assistant tool that will be able to recognize and solve handwritten equations, which will debut in OneNote in the near future.
Most Windows programs are already pen-friendly in that a pen can be used instead of a mouse, the pen works smoothly for most important tasks and interactions, and the program responds to gestures. A program becomes handwriting-friendly when it assists with handwritten text input. A program becomes ink-enabled when it can handle ink directly, instead of requiring that pen strokes be translated to text or equivalent mouse movements. This allows users to write, draw, and add comments in free-flowing, high-quality digital ink. Collecting ink is different than collecting mouse events, because ink requires higher resolution and a higher sample rate, and it can also add nuance with pressure and tilt. For information about creating handwriting friendly and ink-enabled programs, see Integrating Ink and Text Input Using the Pen.
Most pen-friendly programs support gestures. A gesture is a quick movement of the pen on a screen that the computer interprets as a command, rather than as a mouse movement, writing, or drawing. One of the quickest and easiest gestures to perform is a flick. A flick is a simple gesture that results in navigation or an editing command. Navigational flicks include drag up, drag down, move back, and move forward, whereas editing flicks include copy, paste, undo, and delete.

The Intel Core-based version of the Surface Pro 9 is the best detachable tablet around, thanks to its impressive performance, outstanding battery life, and pen-friendly 3:2 aspect ratio screen. The latest model of the class leader merges the iconic Surface Pro design, honed over many generations, with up-to-date hardware and improved battery life. With a sleek design, upgradable storage, and two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, the Surface Pro 9 is easily the most capable tablet-style 2-in-1 on the market, and our favorite Windows detachable.
Anyone who wants to draw, note, or get hands-on with their digital media will appreciate the Surface Laptop Studio 2 for its three-mode, touch-and-pen-friendly design, not to mention the high-performance hardware inside. If you value the convenience and utility of a drafting tablet but need the power of a larger professional creator laptop, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 is unmatched.
I so need this. Have been writing on screens for 8 years, moved from ipad to windows and have a Samsung Galaxy tab pro. The Windows version of evernote really needs proper writing functionality. It's just a ticket to the game these days and not just a 'nice to have'. Sure this must be on the radar? What are your plans for the android and windows? I have started using Onenote purely because of the writing. Shame.
I have a nice workaround too...since i am on windows i have the snipping tool pinned to taskbar so whenever i wanna draw i just go down to clear space in my notes on evernote and select a rectangular snip of blank space in the notes and then i can use the pen in the snipping tool to draw freely..when i am finished i can then right click and copy to evernote in no time at all..I attached screenshots
1) The OneNote app for windows 10 detects the difference between a stylus touch and the hand touch. That is an essential feature for properly handwriting in notes. Can we please improve the handwriting capability / free-form / Ink Note
I can't imagin that evernote is planing to sit this out. this is an essential feature to everyone using a windows based touchsceen tablet. if this subject remains unattended to, then people will literaly be forced to move to other solutions (like onenote) for pen and text recogintion. I hope it doesn't come to that...
Yoga book so far good for windows now if I could use inking with evernote. Touch support seems better in browser. Evernote better in android and ipad apps. perhaps could run android emulator for better app?
There are some file systems such as ext4 that will perform better in a Linux environment, but because of how it is built, the Linux Virtual File System (also known as VFS) can virtualize almost any filesystem, such as NTFS.So if you want to share the usage of that USB stick I wouldn't worry anymore and I would format it into NTFS, since a Linux machine can deal with it with no problem, and you will be using a native file system when using windows.
If you picked up a Surface Pro or another pen-friendly Windows 8 tablet, you're likely eager to wring every ounce of productivity out of that stylus. Microsoft hears your call. It just updated the OneNote app for Windows 8 to give pen customization a shot in the arm: a new radial menu makes it easier to choose a pen's color and weight while saving favorite pens to quick-access slots. Whether or not drawing's your thing, Microsoft has also simplified syncing with support for pulling in Office 365 notebooks, not just those stored on SkyDrive. Avid note-takers only need to grab the upgrade from the source link.
If your home has many large windows or extensive glass panel fencing, you may want to consider Feather Friendly Large Scale/Commercial treatment over DIY. Recommended for treating areas of glass 150 square feet or more.
Anyone using a touchscreen mobile or PC surface will enjoy this update because there are many pen-friendly apps for Windows Ink in Windows Store that people are not aware of. In this article, we thought of writing about such apps to help you take advantage of your Pen in a full manner.
Windows Ink has something in store for everyone around town. StaffPad is one of those pen-friendly apps which allows the musicians to make music easily. StaffPad is a music notation app that will enable you to handwrite your notations with a stylus or a pen. The handwritten notations will be taken up by StaffPad and converted into notations, which can later be edited or even played back to listen to the music you have made and edit it if you want. StaffPad also allows you to share or print the notations.Download from Microsoft Store
Microsoft Bob was released in March 1995 (before Windows 95 was released), although it had been widely publicized under the codename Utopia.[3][4] The project leader for Bob was Karen Fries, a Microsoft researcher. The design was based on research by professors Clifford Nass and Byron Reeves of Stanford University.[5] Melinda Gates, wife of Bill Gates, was the marketing manager for the product.[6] Microsoft originally purchased the domain name bob.com from Boston-area techie Bob Antia, but later traded it to Bob Kerstein for the windows2000.com domain name.[7]
I guess I'm still learning the differences between a cell phone app to call canvas and my new PC laptop where you have a browser to bring up to access the internet. I guess I was thinking how would I get the app for my laptop so I could just click on it and bring up canvas, like the cell phone. My last PC was windows XP. But I have this new one with win10 and it looks so much like a cell phone screen, well, thats what I was thinking.
