You are invited to a Summer Pruning Workshop on Sunday 31st, 11am-3pm in the Rose Garden Orchard, Old Rutherglen Road, Gorbals.
Following our winter pruning session back in March when we did lots of work on the apple trees, we are now focusing on getting the Damson trees back into shape. Join us for a summer pruning workshop led by fruit tree expert Andrew Lear where you'll learn alll about pruning mature stone-fruit trees. It will also be a good chance to pick some soft fruit like raspberries and black currants to take home, so remember to bring a container.
This is a practical hands on workshop in the orchard. We'll be using long handled pruning saws so please wear appropriate clothing and solid shoes (no sandles!). Bring waterproofs along in case of rain. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided, along with all tools and equipment.Unfortunately this workshop is not suitable for children.
Please book your free place by emailing: clementine@theurbanorchardproject.org
The Rose Garden Orchard is a voluntary project. We rely on local residents to look after the trees so that everyone in the community can enjoy a good crop of free fruit.
Best wishes
Clem
