LargoSlimes are the result of a pure slime eating a plort not of its type. They are far bigger than pure slimes and can no longer be stored in the vacpack in this state; instead only being able to fit onto the nozzle. A Largo cannot revert back to a pure Slime.

A Largo Slime adopts the favored food, traits, and abilities of the Slime it was before transforming and the Slime type of the Plort that it ate as a pure Slime. When fed, they produce two Plorts; one for each of its base Slime types. This is doubled to four - two each - when eating one of its favored foods, making them far more efficient for ranching.

There is a risk to ranching Largos however; if a Largo eats another Plort of a type that it does not produce, it transforms into a Tarr; a hostile Slime that devours other Slimes and produces more Tarr when it does so. This is often referred to as a "Tarr outbreak".

Slimeology:

Largo Slimes are a hybrid of two slimes resulting from a slime eating a plort unlike its own. They are twice as big normal slimes and have a combined diet of their two source slimes, making them enticing for ranchers that want to maximize their profits.

Rancher Risks:

In addition to largos being more difficult to manage and having the combined powers of two slimes, an even greater threat to ranchers lies within these super-sized slimes. If a largo eats a plort unlike its two source slimes, it will transform into a ravenous tarr slime!

When there are many of one type of slime and just one of another type of slime, it is possible to mix them using only the food that the latter slime type eats (e.g. Veggies for a Rock Slime among several Dervish Slimes). Refer to the table for more info:

The purpose of Slime Rancher is right there in the title - run a ranch full of slimes. However, unlike the traditional farm animals, slimes are much trickier to care for and contain. They can be very picky with what they eat, and their inherent bounciness makes it easy for them to escape if you don't prep properly.

The reason you're ranching slimes is for Plorts, valuable byproducts that slimes produce periodically. Different slimes produce different Plorts which have varying values, but you don't have to sacrifice all your space to each type of slime. You can instead combine them into Largo slimes that are able to produce multiple types of Plorts at once.

Alongside the basic Slimes that you can find out in the field, you can also encounter Largo Slimes. These are a combination of multiple slime types, appearing larger and having physical distinctions based on their types. In addition to being able to produce two types of plorts at once, they also adopt the behaviors of their source slimes allowing you to adjust their diets. You can make a largo simply by feeding a slime a plort different from its own. Here are the best options.

The Glass Desert is an interesting location to visit, and you're guaranteed to encounter Tangle and Dervish Slimes while you're there. Since they're both docile, it's quite easy to capture them and take them back to the ranch where you can turn them into a valuable Largo.

Their plorts are relatively valuable being worth 75 Newbucks each. In terms of characteristics, Tangles are meat-eaters while Dervishes are fruit-eaters, so turning them into a Largo will allow you to focus entirely on a fruit-based diet, specifically Prickle Pears.

Of all the areas you'll get to explore in Slime Rancher, the Moss Blanket is where you'll spend much of your time. It's one of the first areas you'll get access to, and it's quite calm and full of a variety of slimes. This includes the sweet Honey Slime and the intimidating-sounding Hunter Slime.

Since they're both docile and encountered early on, this is a Largo you can start making to get some quick plorts valued at 45 and 60 Newbucks. This will also allow you to make their diet fruit-based with their favorite food being Mint Mango.

There are a bunch of different Slimes that vastly differ in power and action, so it's best to be cautious around the more unusual ones. This applies to the spiky Crystal Slimes that can be found in the Indigo Quarry and the mysterious Quantum Slimes found in the Glass Desert and Ancient Ruins.

Though the Crystal Slime is harmful and Quantum Slimes can be difficult to manage, it's worth turning them into a Largo. Though their plorts have a good value of 60 Newbucks each, these slimes' combined weakness to water makes their hazards much easier to manage. They have an easy diet of both veggies and fruits.

You don't need to be a scientist to know that you shouldn't mix explosives, but that's a different story in Slime Rancher. The two Slimes of Rad and Boom have some very volatile qualities which you can encounter in various areas, but both can spawn in the Indigo Quarry and Wilds.

They're both harmful in terms of exploding and giving off radiation, but combining them can make them easier to keep in check. Their plorts share a value of 45 Newbucks, their Largo can subsist on veggies, and both of their harmful energies can be suppressed with water.

If Slime Rancher has a mascot, it's the Pink Slime. These happy blobs can be found all over alongside the grumpier Rock Slimes as distinguished by their spikes. Since these slimes can be found early on, it makes sense to combine them into a Largo to get a quick boost in plorts and Newbucks.

Though the Pink Slimes are quite friendly, they're not the only happy and harmless slimes you can encounter. The playful Tabby Slime which can be found all over and the night-only glowing Phosphor Slime are both cheerful in appearance and make for good Largo partners.

It's another combo that makes for a more manageable fruit-based diet with a favorite in Cuberries. Though their plorts are both worth 22 Newbucks each, the value of this combo is that it can be farmed early on for easy money.

Though the world of Slime Rancher may seem bright and colorful, there is also an element of danger that can be found in harmful and feral Slimes. The fiery Mosaic Slime and the aggressive Saber Slime are examples of such dangers lurking in areas like the Glass Desert and the Wilds respectively.

You should combine these two into a Largo slime to get plorts with values of 60 and 75 Newbucks. It also makes it so that the combo will have a favorite food in Silver Parsnips to keep them happy while water can be used to keep their fiery light in check.

Largo Slimes are combinations of two types of slimes. You will find these around in the game that have formed naturally, or you can create them yourselves. In order to create them yourself, you will need a slime of one type and a plort of another type. For example, by feeding a honey slime with a boom plort, you will create a Honey Boom slime, that will produce both a honey plort and a boom plort when fed. They also will have two favourite foods (the same as the slimes that create it) and would accept either foodstuff that the original slimes would have eaten, so a Honey slime eats fruit and a Boom slime eats meat, so the Honey Boom largo eats both fruit and meat.

Largo slimes that eat a plort that it does not produce transform into the Tarr, the main source of danger in the slime world. The Tarr are hostile to absolutely everything, including yourself. They will consume other slimes and replicate when they do, leading to an almost endless amount of them. Due to this, they can potentially spawn anywhere at any time of day, and if one of those places is inside your Ranch, you could potentially lose all you slimes if you're really unlucky.

However, they are weak to water, and during the day a single splash is enough to destroy them. At night they gain more health and require two splashes; the first will remove their rainbow colouring, and their ability to replicate, then the second will obliterate them. Another trick to getting rid of them in smaller number is to vac one up then fire it into the Slime Sea. This will destroy any slime (Tarr or not).

In casual mode, the Tarr do not appear, as Largos cannot eat plorts. However, I don't recommend playing in this mode unless you are really struggling with them, as there are two achievements related to the Tarr.

Gordo Slimes are giant slimes that provide either a Slime Key, to allow you into new areas, or a teleporter, which allows quick access between the Ranch and each area

You have to make a Gordo explode by by feeding it too much of the food type that it wants. Each will have a certain number of items you have to feed until it explodes, and feed its favourite food will half the amount you need to feed before exploding (it counts for two pieces of food rather than one!). You will find that there are two Pink Gordo slimes, Two Rock Gordo slimes and two Tabby Gordo slimes, then one of each of the others. When they explode they will unveil either the teleporter or slime key, 10 normal slimes of their own type (so a Phosphor Gordo will burst and produce 10 normal Phospohr slimes) and then a couple of crates/boxes. Firing these crates at a hard surface will break them open, revealing a few more items and some NewBucks.

I will try to describe where each Gordo can be found, but you can use a World Map from the Slime Rancher Wiki page for aid as well. Unfortunately I can't seem to copy it to here, as the picture size and quality is reduced during the copy.

Pink Gordo:

Location: In the Dry Reef, once you see the first set of wooden fence on the left, look over the cliff side and you'll see a small mossy island connected to a wooden bridge. You should spot the Pink Gordo. It will eat anything and require 30 items of food to burst. It has no favourite food, and will award you a slime key upon bursting (along with 10 pink slimes and a couple of crates that you can hold in your VacPack then fire at a wall to break open for more items)

Location: It is on a separate island off the main Dry Reef, called Ring Island, which can be accessed via a teleporter under the Beach Tabby Gordo (I'll add the location for that one in the Tabby Gordo section). At the top of this island, you'll find the other Pink Gordo, which has exactly the same feeding requirements and drops the same rewards as the first Pink Gordo.
