All,
This is an update on the severe weather and heavy rainfall potential for this weekend. Overall, following the Friday night model runs-
we are still expecting a low-end severe weather risk with the possibility for two to three inches of rainfall...mainly on Sunday into
For northwest portion of the ArkLaMiss (mainly northwest of a Winnsboro, LA to Grenada, MS line)
  • Could have a round of strong storms(wind 40-50mph and small hail) along with heavy rain by tonight
  • Another round of strong to severe storms is possible on Sunday
  • Primary severe weather risks Sunday include damaging wind gusts, large hail, and perhaps a tornado.
For the remainder of the ArkLaMiss
  • There will be a risk for severe weather Sunday into Sunday night...greatest risk along and southeast of the Natchez Trace.
  • Primary severe weather risks include damaging wind gusts, large hail, and perhaps a few tornadoes
If you have any questions or need forecast information more specific to your location, please don't hesitate to contact us at anytime. Additional severe weather information and forecast details can be found atwww.srh.noaa.gov/jan.
