Hi,

At MW2010 Thomas and I met Jess Mitchell from Fluid Engage (http://fluidengage.org/)

"""
Fluid Engage is building flexible software with museums and cultural institutions to enhance their visitors' experience. Engage makes it easy for visitors to connect with content, interact with objects, and extend the museum visit. Prepare for a full-featured visitor adventure.
"""

It seems like Fluid picks up where GLAMkit leaves off, namely, by dealing with the front-end of Museum sites - mobile content, entry widgets, etc. First of all I wanted to draw everyone's attention to the project's existance. Secondly, my question is how much GLAMkit could or should encourage the use of Fluid components - at this stage, or in the future.

On the one hand, a front-end alliance allows GLAMkit to be more of a 'full-service' solution, and for both projects to attract developers from the other. On the other hand, it's easily concievable that specific developers may prefer other front-end frameworks. Django itself has recently added jquery (http://djangoadvent.com/1.2/jquery-admin/), but only for admin, and not as an endorsement.

Any thoughts or opinions? We are still a long way from having this affect code.

In the meantime, I'll explore using Fluid where appropriate in our projects.

Greg.
