Amanda - you should contact Kyle Chisek,
503-823-7041, at PBOT. He was
the lead on the Gladstone bike boulevard project and would be able to
help you.
Others
The deadline is passed to submit, but that doesn't really mean much.
Ana and I talked about submitting last week, but don't think we have
the time to dedicate this year. If someone else is interested in being
more of a lead role, we will certainly help out and be a part of the
project. Recall when we submitted last year we hadn't met with anyone
in the hood at that point. It wasn't until February that we had our
first potluck. That resulted in some awesome ideas and lead us to our
first choice of painting the street- which we didn't find out was
impossible until like April. So we pulled our team together and came
up with another awesome idea. I think if we want to do something and
we have people in the hood who are interested, than we should. City
Repair is there for support and can provide some useful resources for
free, so we might as well sign up and just say we don't know what
we're doing yet. They're ok with that.
Any takers? I have the form and will be glad to submit it, but i just
can't be the lead again - and we need at least three names on the form
for core project team....
FYI- Ana and I met with the neighborhood association 2 weeks ago. It
was sort of supposed to be a hand-off of VBC 11 to them because they
showed some interest in continuing the "Gladstone" further down the
street, but they didn't really take it on, they just said, "ok that's
great if you guys want to do this again..." So it looks like it's up
to us.
Thanks
Morgan

Since the One-Way at Gladstone folks that usually used that to go East bound after work now cruise up Center at top speeds and meander through the neighborhood to get back to Gladstone. Or if you know who I should forward this request to that'd be great.
