Time to get outdoors, yes? Dust off those garden gloves? Help get a project done in a few hours?

Here are some upcoming volunteer opportunities to get outside!

June 1st: GLC's Grasshopper Hill Preserve, Elkhart Lake

When: Saturday, June 1, 9:00 am to Noon
What: Three hours of general clean-up, GPS trail work, staking 2 research areas, plant inventory work, treating invasive plants, monitoring boundaries.
Who: Volunteers 16 years and older for invasive work
Needed: Chainsaw & safety equipment and operator

June 8th: GLC's Spring West Twin River Preserve, Two Rivers

When: Saturday, June 1, 9:00 am to Noon
What: Three hours of general clean-up, plant inventory work, treating invasive plants, monitoring boundaries
Who: Volunteers 16 years and older for invasive work

June 29th: GLC's Christel Woods & Wetlands Preserve, Valders

When: Saturday, June 29, 9:00 am to Noon
What: Three hours of general clean-up, treating invasive plants (reed canary grass), plant inventory work, monitoring boundaries
Who: Volunteers 16 years and older for invasive work

July 8th: Manitowoc County's Point Creek Natural Area, Town of Centerville

When: Monday, July 8, 9:00 am to Noon (perhaps longer)
Rain Date: Tuesday, July 9th, 9:00 am to Noon
What: Plant inventory work along the Lake Michigan shoreline and along Point Creek, general clean-up, treating invasive plants
Needed: Chainsaw with proper safety equipment and operator, volunteer naturalists to help conduct site reports.

For all Work Project Days -- Please dress appropriately for outdoor garden work, changing weather conditions, and please bring gloves too. You might want to bring a snack and water too. We will have tools and supplies. And please register in advance so that we can be prepared and expect to see you.
