Hello Friends,

Here are two opportunities to spend a few hours outdoors doing some good for science and the environment! It's actually pretty rewarding work for a short commitment of time.

1. GLC's Work Party Stewardship Day
When: Saturday, June 29th
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to Noon
Project Leader: GLC Land Team member Shirley Griffin

PLEASE PRE-REGISTER WITH GLC AT 920-273-1143

Where: GLC's Wm. F. Christel Memorial Woods and Wetlands Preserve in the Village of Valders
Meet: East-side of the Cenex Station parking lot, 511 S. Calumet, Valders, 54245
Project focus: Monitoring walk, general clean-up, treat patch of reed canary grass, do plant inventory work

2. PCNA Beach Field Work and Clean-Up (Flyer attached)
When: Monday, July 8th
Rain Date: Tuesday, July 9th 
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to Noon or later
Project Leaders: UW-Green Bay's Bob Howe and Joshua Martinez

PLEASE PRE-REGISTER WITH JOSH MARTINEZ AT 920-465-2030 OR VICKIE HALL AT 920-273-1143

Where: Point Creek Natural Area, HWY LS, Town of Centerville, Manitowoc County
Meet: PCNA parking lot
Project Focus: Volunteer naturalists needed to document plant species along coastal zone of Lake Michigan; some invasive plants will be cut and treated; volunteers needed for general clean-up including trail maintenance.

With all outdoor work days, please wear appropriate clothes and sturdy shoes. Bring bug spray, water and snacks.

Glacial Lakes Conservancy is a local land conservation organization that works to permanently protect working, urban, and natural lands that contribute significantly to the ecological integrity, agricultural sustainability, scenic beauty and recreational enjoyment in Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Kewaunee, Calumet and Fond du Lac counties. GLC works to ensure the permanence of conservation by using proven strategies needed to defend protected land over time.
