At the 2017 Regional Business Conference, we did not receive a bid for the following 2017-2018 Regional Board of Directors positions: Regional Director, Coordinating Officer for Development and Education, and the Coordinating Officer for Recognition and Service.
The applications for the two CO positions will be released next Friday, April 7th. However, at this time, we would like to announce that we are opening up the Regional Director application/election process to the entire region today.
As outlined in the GLACURH Governing Docs, qualifications for the position include the following:
- Must be a student from an affiliated member school in good standing and shall remain so throughout their term of office
- Must have attended at least one Regional Leadership Conference and one Regional Business Conference and been present in boardroom, prior to applying for the position
- Must live in housing that is owned and operated by that member’s respective college or university housing department throughout their term of office, excluding summer and winter breaks
- Must maintain a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale for the current academic session and good disciplinary standing with their respective institutions. Students applying from an Ontario Institution who are unsure of the U.S. and Canadian GPA equivalency of a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale can find them at the following URL:

- Must maintain ‘full-time’ student status for the entirety of their term of office
- Must not simultaneously serve on a NACURH/GLACURH conference team

This form and all supporting materials are due on April 17th at 11:59PM CST. All supporting materials (including the Host School Acknowledgement and Technology forms) are also due on April 17th at 11:59PM CST and should be emailed to the GLACURH Regional Advisor at
gl_ad...@nacurh.org.
The following forms are required:
Host School Acknowledgement Form and
Technology Form. These forms will need be signed and notarized accordingly. Once they are completed, they need to be scanned and electronically submitted with your supplemental application materials.
Be sure to keep the originals because they will need to be submitted to the Regional Advisor if you are officially elected.
The applications will be reviewed between April 18th and April 20
th. All applicants will be notified if they are selected to present in front of the Regional Board of Directors or not.
If selected, the applicant must be prepared for a five-minute presentation and five-minute Q & A session during the RBD meeting on Wednesday, April 26th at between 10:00PM EST/9:00PM CST and 11:00PM EST/10:00PM CST.
The Regional Board of Directors will then elect the next Regional Director.
The elected individual must attend the RBD Transition Retreat May 18-20, 2017 and, if the individual is able, should attend the NACURH 2017 Conference at Purdue University May 26-28, 2017. To solidify the selection, the elected individual will also need to be confirmed by a vote of confidence by the NCCs at the NACURH 2017 Conference.
Then and only then will the election be official.
