Subject: Key timimg adjustment? Like double klick speed?
To: gk...@googlegroups.com

I can't type with my big numb dumb fingers. A bit of muscular dystophy, seven surgeries to hands, severed carpal tunnel.

So after finding the GKOS sysyem. I tapped into a keyboard with ribbon wires and built two handpieces with three microswitches each. Now my six fingers all stay on their home keys, while laid back in a recliner, arms relaxed, freeing up my eyes to watch the screen.

It all works good for single keys, but chords don't like me. I'm thinking I can't release all keys simultaneously.

So, anything I can do to adjust the timing? Allow some variation in timing? I'm running an XP desktop. And the QWERTY sampler GKOS program that I downloaded a year ago +/-.

Releasing all keys at the same time is not necessary. There should only be a problem if you happen to re-press any key in the release action. Otherwise there should be no extra output.

Principle: press down the chord keys in any order and at any time until all required keys are down, then release them in any order and at any time until all have been released.

Please check the settings of the program in the menu. There might be some preferencies like auto-repeat, chordon detection etc.. They should be off. Choose simple mode (if I remember right...)

It seems that the second post from casebro has disappeared for now (failure to release from spam filter?):

Oh, a response!  Things seem a little slow on GKOS fora.

My screw up, actually. I didn't check out the junker keyboard deeply
enough. It could only handle limited chording. Final result was to get
inside of three different kbds, each was a..."

Anyway, good to hear that you seem to have managed to make it work. It is a common problem with qwerty PC keyboards that at least 50% of them cannot detect as many as 6 keys at the same time. But some do.
