Strange error with giver.

Hello to all.
Whenever I compile and install giver it gives me a strange error. I
wonder if anyone else has had this or can tell me what is wrong. When I
run 'giver' in a terminal it outputs:
'exec: 9: -a: not found'
I have remove and compiled over and over with the same results. When I
compile there are no errors, everything works really smooth. I am using
Ubuntu 7.10, have an 1.8Ghz AMD processor with 1GB of ram.
