Clearwater's Parks & Recreation Department has planned the following activities to celebrate Halloween safely.
Halloween Doubles Scramble: Friday, Oct. 19 and Saturday, Oct. 20, Henry L. McMullen Tennis Complex, 1000 Edenville Ave. $30 entry fee includes food and refreshments. The scramble begins Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. with finals Saturday at 9 a.m. Dress in tennis-appropriate Halloween Costumes for bonus points. Deadline to register is Oct. 12. Spooktacular: Friday, Oct. 26, Countryside Recreation Center, 2640 Sabal Springs Drive, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Entertainment includes the Trail of Terror, pumpkin patch, costume contest, inflatables, carnival games with prizes, and music. Call (727) 669-1914 for more information.

Sweet Swap: Thursday, Nov. 1 and Friday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., the Long Center, 1501 N. Belcher Rd. Trick-or-treaters ages 17 and under can donate their Halloween candy and receive a prize from the pumpkin prize box. Each pound of candy that is brought in earns an entry into a drawing for prizes such as a new bike, a Play Pass, and tickets to a local sports game. An extra entry can be earned by bringing in a thank you note to a U.S. serviceman or woman overseas. All candy collected will be sent to the armed forces.
