Hi, i've found several patches floating around for LDAP integration,
but all of them are at least couple years old and wont work on latest
version of Gitorious.

Can anyone share working LDAP patches please.

I was looking for this as well. It appears that most of the LDAP
patches aren't being maintained or was dropped a year ago or so. Our
best bet would probably be to branch one of them and start working on
them on our own.

Well, Rodrigo is migrating the authentication to Devise, so adding LDAP support should be really easy after that is done. I would wait for him to finish, he's doing some great refactoring to gitorious.

I've had success using the Gitorious' OpenID functionality with an OpenID server backed by LDAP. I took the example site in the ruby-openid gem and modified it a bit to auth against my corporate LDAP server.

Good luck,
Mike

But let me tell that this alone won't enable you to use LDAP easily.
This is part of our effort in migrating Gitorious to use Rails 3.

After that, we'll be able to update Devise to latest version, which can
be integrated with OmniAuth, which supports LDAP authentication among
several others.

This will probably take a while. I would suggest you for now to take the
approach Mike Luu talked about and implement a simple OpenID provider
that integrates to your LDAP server.

Good luck!

Best regards,

Rodrigo.

@Boian @asuranzala I've had no problems with merging
https://gitorious.org/~candrews/gitorious/candrews-mainline/commits/ldap_authentication
into the current mainline for ldap authentication.
