I've got a repository on Gitorious that's a clone of the Qt
repository. I really had no idea how to use Git when I started it (I
will still claim to be solidly at newb status...) but I made quite a
number of mistakes and didn't really understand what good practices
for Git were. So, the repo is rather a mess...

I'd like to be able to basically either nuke my repository, or reset
it back to just a clean clone of the Qt repository. Is that
possible? If not, does anyone have any thoughts on how I could clean
it up some?

I suspect that it will, particularly the section on handling remotes
(one of the sections I don't understand well) - but it doesn't answer
the current issue I'm having of the repository being cluttered up with
structural mistakes...

If you don't have any work that's important to you in the current repository, I guess the easiest way out is to hit "edit project" (right column) and then simply delete it and clone the repository over again.

Ya thats better..
After that you can follow the presentation http://shakthimaan.com/downloads/glv/presentations/di-git-ally-managing-love-letters.pdf .. you first execute all the commands in the presentation and you'll become familier with the git commands. Even the commands for cloning, etc are given. read and understand the presentation fully.

Excellent, thank you! That will work fine; I do have some work, but
it's honestly easier for me to re-apply the handful of patches I've
created to a clean tree than to try to clean up the mess I've made.
