Hi, I ran hierarchical clustering on gene expression data.  The results look fine to me except the labels for the 10 levels, namely AA, AB, BBAAA etc.  What exactly those mean?  I know they are related to the cluster assignment but don't know in details.  Thanks much for your help.

Hi Lydia

Yes, as in the hierarchical clustering, at each step, the subjects are split into two groups (and some may be discarded), the algorithm does assing a A or a B, to two parts of the subject that have been split.

Best,
Michael
