Hi All,

When I browse my repository using gitlist, it shows only the master branch under the branches list. Am I missing something here?

How can I get it to display all the branches

Thanks
-Praveen

Hi All,

I am struggling to understand this behavior.

I have hosted gitlist on a remote server. gitlist is looking at a clone of the remote repository. However the viewer lists only all branches that are local to the clone. It does not let me browse all the remote branches unless I create a local one to each of the branch in the remote repository.

What am I missing here, can gitlist not look the remote repository directly?

Thanks
-Praveen

Try using git clone --mirror

You can use Gitlist normally on the remote repository. Just install it on the server where the remote repository is and change your config.ini to read the folder containing the remote repositories. Make sure you set the correct permissions, so Gitlist is able to read those directories. And you're done.

Thank you Peter, cloning using --mirror solved that problem.

Other than setting up a cron to fetch, pull on the repo is there any other way for gitlist to dynamically show the latest each time we refresh?

Thanks

Hi Klaus,

Your prompt responses are much appreciated. That worked. It was just getting the permissions right on the folder

Thanks
