I installed GitlabHQ 2.0 with gitolite as a regular user (using
webrick) and it works fine.
I then followed
http://wasil.org/gitlab-installation-on-fedora-16-with-gitolite
for setting up gitolite with apache on RHEL 6.1 x86_64 using apache /
passenger.
I am able ot connect to gitolite using the apache user:
-bash-4.1$ ssh -T gitolite@localhost
the gitolite config gives you the following access:el6
R W gitolite-admin
@R_ @W_ testing
I am also able to "git clone gitolite@localhost:gitolite-admin" and
push to it.
I don't see any evidence of logging (git / ssh) in /var/log/secure or /
var/lib/gitolite/.gitolite/logs/gitolite-2012-01.log
I've tried installing it as another user (using "bundle exec rails s -
e production" to start it) and it behaves the same.
It looks like I finally solved the problem by deleting the git* files
in /tmp (there was a lock file owned by my fist install).
Didn't fully check, but I'm trying to understand how to better debug
gitlab, as the production.log just gives me rails stuff: Rendered
public/githost_error.html (0.1ms).
Is there a way to turn on debug logs so I can see such errors in log
files?
