Emoji in Gitit?

Is there a way to enable emoji in Gitit? I know about Pandoc's emoji extension but not how to enable it for a Gitit wiki.  -- Conal

Since gitit is a barely maintained project, it hasn't
kept pace with all the pandoc developments. It should
be fairly simple to add this extension in the code,
though. In the ContentTransformer module, there's
a place where readerExtensions are defined, and you
could just add Ext_emoji.
