Hi all,

I installed a fresh copy of Ubuntu 11.10 in VirtualBox and also
installed the VirtualBox Guest Additions. I then tried to run
GitExtensions via Mono. It failed to launch. I then noticed another
post which linked to a YouTube video with instructions for 11.04 but
they didn't work for me in 11.10. I've tried installing various
libmono pieces (including forms and ldap as mentioned at the YouTube
link) but nothing seems to work. If I try to run GitExtensions.exe I
get the error below:

VirtualBox:~/GitExtensions221$ mono ./GitExtensions.exe

Unhandled Exception: System.TypeLoadException: A type load exception
has occurred.
[ERROR] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: System.TypeLoadException: A type
load exception has occurred.

Running the command with --trace just shows many many errors related
to StringBuilder and mentions of string/char.

I'd love to use GitExtensions in Linux and would even be willing to
maintain a Wiki page here detailing how to get it up and running, but
I don't know where to start!

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
