Branch names missing

I have a colleague that has an issue I cannot solve, and I've use GE for a very long time. Suddenly, his branch names are all missing from the UI. The branches are all there, but the names are no longer displayed. How can we get these back?

I've tried to attach screenshots to this message, but it keeps saying "Forbidden.

Well, it turns out he was on Git 2.8.x, which apparently was the problem. Upgraded to 2.33.x and now the names show up.
