Running GitExtensions 2.07 and Windows 7 (64bit) and it doesn't seem
to work...

Every time I try to commit, I get an unhandled exception (the system
cannot find the file specified). http://twitpic.com/372cvn
Also occurs with other commands (e.g. diff), although git bash does
work

I have set the command to run git to D:\Apps\Git\bin\git.exe and path
to linux tools to D:\Apps\Git\bin\ and saved it. However, it still
fails to work. Also, if I go back into the setting the command to run
git is set back to just 'git', so it seems nothing was saved. I have
checked the registry (HKCU/Software/GitExtensions/GitExtensions/
1.0.0.0) and the 'gitbindir', 'gitcommand' and 'gitdir' are all
correctly set.

It must have been a recent change, since when reverting back to 2.05
it works (2.06 doesn't work).

Any ideas?

I just solved this. New version, 2.07b, is uploading to code.google.com right now.

My apologies!

Working now... was it because the working directory was not being set
properly when executing 'git.exe' (i.e. trying to run it in the system
directory)?

Thats good to hear. There was actually a bug in GitExtensions 2.07 that caused this setting to get invalid. The bug was caused by the installer, which was build using an old version of GitCommands.dll. I rebuild everything, double checked, and re-uploaded the installers.
I guess its not a good idea to switch between different revisions while leaving Visual Studio open...
