कार्याकार्ये तुलयति सर्वस् तृप्तो न जातु तृष्णार्तः ।
स्वादु शुचि वा च तोयं मरुपथिकः को विचारयति ॥
kāryākārye tulayati sarvas tṛpto na jātu tṛṣṇārtaḥ |
svādu śuci vā ca toyaṃ marupathikaḥ ko vicārayati ||
Right and wrong actions are weighed only by one who is full (lit. contented) but not by one who is in need. Which traveller in the desert (dying from thirst) would bother whether the water he gets is sweet or pure ?
